Congrats to 'Happy Feet' for winning the animated Oscar (still haven't seen it... or Casino Royale 007.. or Ghost Rider... or Babel, The Queen... in fact, i can't remember the last time i went to the cinema... welcome to parenthood).
I meant to post this before, too: is John Hurt THE actor for my generation?
He's played the victim of Big Brother, then the real Big Brother in 'V for Vendetta',
and Jesus ('History of the World Part One'), the very 1st Alien spawnee...
My answer is: yes. This man can do anything, and if i get my dream of directing the Green Lantern movie, he would be one of the 1st people i'd audition (a mere formality).

..ok, caught up now?
I MADE THE FINAL TABLE AT THE MAIN EVENT (POKERDOME)!
Wow, what a day... 8 hours later, and i bit the bullet at 9th = $200 - not too shabby!
2 hour sessions, with only 15 mins break between them.... a real test of endurance.
But thanks to my trusty iPod, and scoring a comfy chair (only 3 tables had them), the passage of time was NOT a problem.
AND this was of course a free ticket, which came with $50 already... and then there was Narwee on Thurs night (3rd, $35).
Something tells me i'm quite good at this Poker thing.... ;)

Last night should have been my Anniversary Poker Game @ St George, Maso's (remember: i won my 1st ever game, and that was the 1st Tues after St Vals '06).
Sadly, i had no means of getting there (it's a little too far to walk without taking a physical blow, which would have put me off my game).
Instead, i played a 1069 player Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo game at PokerStars.com... AND CAME 3RD! WOO HOO!
now THAT's the sort of training i need before Saturday's big one: The Main Event, PokerDome.

YAY! What an anniversary month of Poker this has been for me!
Since Feb '06, I have now won tourneys (30-100 players) at APL (3 times),
NPL (at least once, maybe 3 times), and OzPokerTour (Sat night - my last $5 too!).
(then there's my pub games, 2nd x 2 at Narwee, couple of 4ths at Bexley North)
AND the OzPoker win on the weekend, gives me $50, AND a ticket for the Main Event.
This is a $55 buy in (if you don't have a ticket), for a max. 207 players - WOO HOO!
Rego starts 10.30am... stay tuned and wish me luck.

ANYWAY... little experiment:
I caught a train to work 8.30am... caught a bus in the city to work... arrived about 9.40am.
So that's over an hour of public transport.... did ANYONE notice my fly was undone, and i mean all the way?
If they did, they sure didn't say anything... ok, we're talking black pants over black boxers... but still.
It took my boss about 5 mins to spot it, albeit cos my 'faux-mohawk' hair is still worrying him.
Moral: X.Y.Z... if u think anyone'll actually say something - otherwise, RIDE IT, baby!

I want to invent 'ShoulderCam'.
I'm sick and tired of money, time and energy being wasted on sorting out 'what really happened' between people, when clearly a camera (with audio) on someone's shoulder would at least give people a better idea of the truth.
